Banana Bonanza Highlights Lil’ Sumthin’ Sweet’s First Year on Fenton Street
Lil’ Sumthin’ Sweet is celebrating its first anniversary in downtown Silver Spring.
Known for its ice cream nachos and named an editor’s pick for “Best New Indulgence” in the 2025 Best of Bethesda awards, the sweets shop is currently holding a Banana Bonanza promotion featuring banana splits until July 31.
Hit the mother lode at A Lil’ Sumthin’ Sweet Dessert Cafe: enticing cakes, pies, cookies, brownies and ice cream (with endless toppings) await you under one downtown Silver Spring roof. Sample 14 milkshake flavors, ice cream nachos (your choice of ice cream and three toppings accompanied by crunchy waffle cone chips), frozen yogurts, parfaits, soft serve, waffle bowls and hand-scooped ice cream.
Lil’ Sumthin’ Sweet opened last summer in the space formerly occupied by Smoothie King. According to Black Enterprise, the shop’s co-owners started with a simple mission: to create delicious, high-quality baked goods that bring joy to their customers’ lives, all while using the finest ingredients.
“Our business is built on great service, quality products, and community engagement,” co-owner Camilla Smith told Yelp MD Burbs last year. “We started to get involved with the community, bring joy to those around us, and add a little sweetness to people’s lives. Serving cakes, pies, cookies, brownies, and farm-fresh ice cream, we’ve got a little something for everyone.”
